The format converter handles one uploaded file at a time and lets you choose a source and output format. Converting changes the container and may also re-encode pixels. It cannot restore detail already lost to earlier compression, and an opaque JPG does not become transparent merely by saving it as PNG.
Choose a format for the destination
JPG is widely compatible for photographs but has no transparency. PNG supports transparency and lossless pixel storage but can be large. WebP can reduce web delivery size. HEIC and AVIF may need conversion for older software. PDF output is intended for document-style sharing.
Check after conversion
Confirm dimensions, color, transparency, and orientation in the destination application. Keep the source file, especially when metadata, wide-gamut color, animation, or multi-image containers matter.

Does PNG to JPG remove transparency?
Yes. JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent areas must be flattened to a solid background.
Does JPG to PNG improve the original quality?
No. PNG avoids another lossy encoding step, but it cannot recover detail or artifacts already present in the JPG.
